How to Export Your Gumroad Customer Email List

Gumroad keeps two separate exports — Sales and Subscribers — and it's easy to grab only one. Here's what each covers and what to check before you import either elsewhere.

Before moving email tools, adding a second sales channel, or just backing up your business, exporting your Gumroad customer list is worth doing — and it’s easy to get only half of it without realizing.

Gumroad keeps two separate datasets — export both if both matter to you

  1. Sales / customers. This is your purchase record: who bought, what they bought, and the fee breakdown on each transaction. Export it as a CSV from your Sales dashboard. This is the file with your actual revenue and fee history, not just contact info.
  2. Subscribers. People who signed up to hear from you — whether or not they’ve bought anything — live in a separate dashboard with their own CSV export, covering a date range you choose. The export includes email addresses and the date each person started following you.

These are genuinely different lists. A customer isn’t automatically a subscriber, and a subscriber isn’t automatically a customer — export the one (or both) that matches what you’re actually trying to move or back up.

The $100 threshold everyone gets confused about. Gumroad requires you to have earned $100 after fees and received a payout before you can send emails through Gumroad’s own email tools. This rule is about sending email through Gumroad — it has nothing to do with exporting your subscriber list. The Subscribers dashboard’s CSV export works regardless of that threshold, so don’t wait to back up your list just because you haven’t hit $100 in payouts yet.

Before you import this anywhere else:

If exporting your list is step one of a bigger decision about whether to stay on Gumroad at all, the full checklist — data export plus the real fee comparison — is here.
